L-A-B_Div_A-S-B_Acred_ISO_LgIndustrial Bolting Technologies, the West Virginia-based company that manufactures TorsionX hydraulic torque wrenches sold around the world, has just received an important new recognition. The in-house testing and calibration laboratories have just received the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Every TorsionX tool is tested and calibrated before being shipped out to customers in the field. They have to be right. The accrediting body, Laboratory Accreditation Bureau, issued the certificates of approval earlier this week declaring that IBT and TorsionX meet the rigorous standards of the accreditation.

This accreditation is a voluntary, third party approval process where the testing and calibration laboratory is thoroughly evaluated in its ability to produce consistent reports. It is considered to be the single most important standard for calibration and testing laboratories around the world.

“We actually flew right through the approval process,” said Mike McCown, Industrial Bolting Technologies president. “I don’t think it was an easy process. Just the opposite. Our system is so good and reliable, that it was no problem to meet the ISO standards.”

What does this mean to Industrial Bolting Customers and purchasers of TorsionX tools? Every TorsionX tool will perform reliably to the highest standards, producing the torque you need when you need it.

The IBT testing and calibration lab can also calibrate other hydraulic torque wrenches and had also been certified as being in compliance with ISO 6789, an important standard for testing and calibrating manual torque wrenches.

The certificates say:

Industrial Bolting Technologies, Inc. has met the requirements set forth in L-A-B’s policies and procedures, all requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 “General Requirements for the competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories”.

The accredited lab has demonstrated technical competence to a defined “Scope of Accreditation” and the operation of a laboratory quality management system (refer to joint ISO-ILAC-IAF Communiqué dated 8 January 2009).

Accreditation valid through: November 4, 2017

This is just one more reason Industrial Bolting Technologies and TorsionX can’t be beat!
